Clear direction, synchronized implementation

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC organizes training courses on AI and technology for its employees.
The power of innovation at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC is also driven by initiatives from its workforce. Between 2023 and 2025, the Corporation recognized 587 initiatives, 26 of which received Ä¢¹½´«Ã½-level recognition, and completed the evaluation of 37 scientific and technological projects.
By September 2026, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC had successfully completed all 22 core tasks outlined in Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s master plan for digital transformation. The benefits of digital transformation are becoming increasingly evident in daily operations: equipment is monitored and controlled remotely, tasks are managed in a digital environment, and customers enjoy more convenient access to electricity services.
Applying AI to proactively prevent power grid incidents
In power grid operations, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC is transitioning from manual inspections and time-based maintenance toward online monitoring and condition-based equipment assessment. All 245 of its 110kV substations now operate as unmanned facilities, monitored and controlled remotely.
The value of this data is clearly demonstrated in repair and maintenance activities. Between 2024 and 2025 alone, through condition-based assessments, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC identified and addressed 862 anomalies - such as cracked insulators, oil leaks, and high grounding resistance. Early detection enables power units to proactively address potential risks, schedule maintenance at appropriate times, and prevent defects from developing into incidents.
Building on this foundation, AI is being increasingly integrated into equipment diagnostics. In 2025, two Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC initiatives were recognized by Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ for wider application across the Group: using AI to analyze dissolved gases in transformer insulating oil for the early diagnosis of potential internal faults in 110 kV transformers, and using AI to analyze and identify partial discharge signals. These solutions provide additional data for assessing equipment condition and support preventive maintenance.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC units utilize modern technology for grid management and operations.
In the field, AI-powered unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been deployed across all power companies to help detect insulation defects and identify encroachments within the safety corridors of 110 kV power lines. Compared with manual inspections, this solution enables power companies to reduce inspection time by 59%, cut labor requirements by 48%, and improve defect detection capability by 41%.
Innovations in management and operations have contributed to improving the Corporation’s technical performance indicators. In the first nine months of 2026, the number of incidents on the 110kV power grid at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC fell to 6 - a reduction of 19 incidents compared to the same period in 2025 - while the power loss rate reached 3.50%, performing better than the assigned target.
Customers benefit from digital technology
By September 2026, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC had installed over 8.7 million electronic meters, bringing electronic meter coverage to 99.99% of its customers. Daily data from approximately 8.5 million meters is updated on the customer service application and website, representing an integration rate of 98%. This enables customers to regularly monitor their electricity consumption, identify unusual fluctuations, and adjust their usage accordingly, while also providing them with additional information to verify their electricity consumption data.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC bringing digital utility services closer to public.
Metering data supports customer inquiries and the resolution of concerns, helping enhance transparency in electricity business operations. Additionally, integration with over 30 banks and payment intermediaries has made it more convenient for customers to pay their electricity bills. In the first nine months of 2026, 100% of electricity bill payments were made through cashless channels, and the corporation no longer assigned staff to collect electricity bills at customers’ homes.
Convenience has been further enhanced by making all 12 of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC’s 12 electricity services available online through end-to-end digital processes on the National Public Service Portal and the VNeID application. Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC has also digitized all electricity purchase and sale records and introduced electronic digital signatures for 100% of new electricity purchase and sale contracts. Households and businesses can submit requests and complete procedures online, reducing travel time and waiting at service counters.
Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC’s customer care ecosystem, accessible through its mobile app and Zalo Official Account (Zalo OA), serves over 4.57 million users and processes more than 500,000 online transactions annually, with over 99.9% of requests resolved on time. The ability to promptly receive and process customer requests helps ensure that digital services deliver tangible benefits at every stage of customers’ interactions with the electricity sector.
During the 2027–2030 period, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½SPC will continue to implement its “One Infrastructure – One Databaseâ€ strategy, focusing on data standardization, system interoperability, and the wider application of artificial intelligence (AI). The focus is on making effective use of existing digital platforms, developing human resources, and ensuring information security to support power grid operations and improve the quality of customer services.
