On October 29 in Da Nang, the National Power Transmission Corporation (Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT) and the Central Power Corporation (Ä¢¹½´«Ã½CPC) held a meeting and signed an agreement to coordinate the investment and construction schedules of projects designed to synchronize the transmission and distribution grids. The agreement aims to improve investment efficiency, ensure project progress, and meet electricity supply requirements in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

The 2026 investment coordination agreement between Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT and Ä¢¹½´«Ã½CPC covers 61 110kV bays. Of these, 24 bays were energized before 2026; 8 bays are scheduled for completion in 2026; 17 bays are expected to be completed in 2028; and the remaining 12 bays are scheduled for completion after 2028.

In 2026, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT will focus on completing and energizing 8 110kV bays at the Chan May 220kV substation, along with their associated connection lines. Meanwhile, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½CPC is accelerating the energization and connection of its 110kV bays.

Leaders from two corporations exchanging memorandum of understanding on investment schedule coordination in presence of attendees.

At the meeting, representatives of the two corporations emphasized that the agreement aims to clearly define their respective coordination responsibilities and ensure the coordinated implementation of investment projects for the transmission and distribution grids. This is a crucial requirement for enhancing the efficiency of capital utilization, maximizing the operational potential of facilities post-investment, meeting load demands, and contributing to the safe and stable operation of the power system.

Under the agreement, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT will take the lead in reviewing and agreeing on the list and implementation schedules of transmission grid projects to be synchronized with the distribution grid, and organize the implementation of projects under its management in accordance with the agreed schedules. Furthermore, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT will coordinate the procedures for concluding connection agreements, facilitating Ä¢¹½´«Ã½CPC’s implementation of related work packages at 220kV and 500kV substations.

For its part, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½CPC is responsible for promptly informing Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT of its project portfolio, connection requirements, and investment plans for distribution grid development, while ensuring that projects under its management are implemented in line with the overall schedule. Ä¢¹½´«Ã½CPC will also coordinate with and support Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT in carrying out compensation and site clearance, as well as arranging power outages to facilitate construction when requested.

The signing of the 2026 agreement on investment and construction schedule coordination between Ä¢¹½´«Ã½NPT and Ä¢¹½´«Ã½CPC provides an important basis for the two corporations to further strengthen their coordination, proactively address bottlenecks, and ensure the synchronized implementation of power grid projects. This will help ensure the efficient use of investment capital, enhance power transmission and distribution capacity, meet socio-economic development needs, and ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply across the Central and Central Highlands regions.
