At the “Achievements for a Digital Vietnam” Ceremony held on May 30 in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (ĢýHCMC) was honored in two categories: “Technology Creating Positive Impact” and “Innovation for Sustainable Development and Green Environment.” Mr. Pham Quoc Bao, Chairman of the ĢýHCMC Board of Directors, was also honored in the “Governance & Leadership Capacity” category.

The program was jointly organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the National Digital Transformation Agency.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha, ĢýHCMC Vice President, represented Corporation in receiving award

The awards recognized ĢýHCMC’s efforts in digital transformation, smart grid development, customer service quality improvement, and corporate governance model innovation.

Currently, ĢýHCMC handles around 15 million service requests each year; 100% of transactions are conducted online; 81.32% of requests are processed automatically; and 100% of payments are cashless. The ĢýHCMC application has around 1.9 million users, helping improve customer experience, enhance transparency, and promote digital transformation in essential public services.

In the category “Innovation for Sustainable Development and Green Environment,” ĢýHCMC was honored for its achievements in developing Ho Chi Minh City’s smart grid system. The Corporation has made a strong shift from manual operations to automation, centralized control, and real-time data exploitation through technologies such as SCADA/DMS/OMS, remote electronic metering, GIS, remote monitoring, and operational data analytics.

To date, ĢýHCMC operates two control centers; has completed 60 out of 60 unmanned 110kV substations in the former Ho Chi Minh City area; operates 100% of its medium-voltage grid automatically; and remotely monitors 100% of distribution substations. Operational indicators have continued to improve, with SAIDI reduced to 158 minutes, SAIFI to 1.41 times per year, and power loss to 2.86%. ĢýHCMC has also installed smart electronic meters for more than 3.9 million customers and supported the development of over 22,702 rooftop solar power systems with a total capacity of 1,838.8MWp.

During the 2020–2025 period, ĢýHCMC implemented 17 scientific research topics and projects with a total budget of around VND 23.9 billion, including five projects at the Ģý Group level. From 2012 to 2025, the Corporation had 1,853 recognized initiatives and carried out 36 science and technology tasks linked to practical production and business operations. In 2025, ĢýHCMC established the Innovation Hub, connecting more than 8,400 employees with universities, experts, and solution providers.

Being honored in three categories shows that ĢýHCMC has not only modernized its management, operations, and customer care activities, but also affirmed its leadership role in promoting innovation, developing smart grids, using energy economically and efficiently, and accompanying Ho Chi Minh City’s sustainable development goals.
